Introduction to Chinese Law Notes

donaldclarke.substack.com

Greetings. I am currently a professor at the George Washington University Law School, where my teaching and research focus on modern Chinese (PRC) law. My main platforms for instant commentary are currently Twitter (@donaldcclarke) and The China Collection blog (https://thechinacollection.org). I’m also in the fediverse (Mastodon) at @donaldcclarke@mastodon.online.

I created this Substack in December 2022 because (among other things) it looked like Twitter was about to implode, with lots of people moving to Substack, so I thought I’d better get over here and claim my name and a title for commentary.

For the time being I will continue with short commentary on Twitter and/or Mastodon, with longer commentary on the blog, but I will also circulate the blog commentary here, and will eventually move entirely over to here.

Commentary will mostly about modern Chinese law, with occasional excursions into economics, trade, international law, and politics as they relate to China. I don’t know how often I’ll be posting at this point, but it doesn’t matter because I’m not charging. This whole thing is at the moment pretty experimental, and I appreciate your coming along for the ride.
